Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since the end of the 1980s. She has been recognized for her film and TV work since the 1980s. The awards she has won are two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was brought up by her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was born and grew up within New York New York. Bassett along with her mother and sister relocated into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was five. Their father divorced their mother. When she was in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980), in African American study, and an honorary doctorate (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. the Yale School of Drama granted the degree of Master of Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in the year 1980. She was a student at the institutions that she attended: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th & 9th grades as well as Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her leading roles, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
